Practical Scrappers: Ten Ways to Use Transparencies and Clear Embellishments
It's Tuesday again!! So, today over at Practical Scrappers, the ladies are showing us some fun ways to use transparencies and clear embellishments.
I have a stack of these hanging around and I always forget to break them out, even though I love the different ways they can be used :-) This was a fun reminder, and the other ladies have some really great ideas too.
For my take on the challenge, I created a clear card. I like that it can be incorporated into a clean and simple style and I love how layering on the inside appears on the outside...very 3D :-)
Here's my take on a clear card!
Please swing on by the Practical Scrappers blog and see what other fabulous creations the ladies are sharing with you today!

CAS-ual Fridays: Black and White Plus One
It's been AGES since I've actually participated in a card challenge, and since I had some extra time today, I thought I would jump back into it :-) It's so fun to get inspired and push yourself in a new way :-)
This card is for the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge where we were asked to create a clean and simple card with just black, white and one extra color. I went with blue, since I've been up to my eyes in baby boy stuff these days...must be rubbing off on my girly side!

Go Fish: Photo Inspiration Challenge
Hello again! I'm back to card making here in the craft room with one VERY furry assistant holding my arms down while I type. Good thing she's so cute :-)
For this week's challenge over at Go Fish, we're asking you to get inspired by the beautiful photo below! Create anything you like and post it to the Go Fish Challenge Blog before Feb 28th for your chance to win :-)
Here's my take on the challenge...I used the concentric colored circles to create the focal point in the card and then accented with a polka dot background. It's going to make a cute thank you card for my Grandma...she sent me the most delicious box of valentine's candy today. Yummy :-)
So please, stop on by the Go Fish Challenge and show us your take on this pretty picture!

Baby Gear!
Today I'm going off the beaten path and showing off a bit of what I've been working on today. I'm now 6 1/2 months pregnant (WHOA) so I thought it was time to start working on all the little DIY projects I've been stashing away :-)
Now that I can move around in my craft room, I was able to get all my t-shirt making stuff out and accessible and made a few onesies and bibs for our little guy. They're all either vinyl or a combination of vinyl and fabric. Super easy to do if you have a Cricut or a Pazzle Inspriation like I do. I get my t-shirt vinyl on the cheap from Heat Transfer Warehouse. I'm in no way a spokesperson for them, but their prices are super low and they also have coupons that come out fairly often. I use the ThermoFlex PLUS since it adheres to all sorts of different fabrics, even athletic ones. Pretty cool!!
I also broke out the sewing machine and made a receiving blanket and a taggie blanket. The furry fabric on the back of the taggie was shedding EVERYWHERE, so I managed to resolve it by serging the edges before I sewed them to the polka dot fabric. It seemed to do the trick, so hopefully our little guy won't have a face full of brown fur the first time he gets his hands on it :-)

Practical Scrappers: Staples and Paperclips
Today over at Practical Scrappers, it's "10 Things Tuesday"! For your perusal, the ladies are showing us different ways to use staples and paperclips. This is such a fun one because even if you're just getting started in the scrap game, you most likely have these office essentials already in your house. :-)
I was able to dig up some PINK staples, just in time for Valentines Day :-) My little take was to combine form and function and adhere my (extremely thin) lace with some funky shapes made of staples. Here's how it turned out!

Practical Scrappers: Using a Heart Punch
Today over at Practical Scrappers the ladies are showing us 10 different ways to use that little heart punch you have riding around in your stash :-) They have some really fun ideas, so please stop by the blog and get inspired!
My take on this challenge was to use hearts from my heart punch to stand in for letters in text. This simple card uses the hearts as Os in the sentiment "Love You". I added extra dimension by popping the hearts up with adhesive foam :-)

Go Fish Challenge: I Love You
Can you believe it's almost Valentine's Day?? I feel like I just took down the Christmas decorations (and....shamefully that's true!) This week, all the blogs and challenges are getting people excited about creating sweet keepsakes for their loved ones. I know it's a great excuse for me to get a jump start on valentines for my family!
This week at the Go Fish Challenge is no exception! So, please stop by and drop off your take on the I Love You Challenge :-) I went more masculine for this challenge since it will be doubling as a birthday card for my lovely husband...shhhhhhh.....
Can't wait to see what you create!
